Being a diehard fan of a show extends to much more than simply watching episode after episode of the show. If you claim to be a Futurama fanatic, then you need to live up to what a fan of the show recently did, before you can come even close to being the greatest fan of the greatest animated show ever!
The man in question is famous by his YouTube username, ‘doctorpappa’, and is evidently heads-over-heels in love with Futurama, which is why he drew inspiration from the show to come up with a really unique geeky proposal for the woman he loves.
The video featuring the man’s proposal has gone viral over the internet, and is just what we needed to illustrate the power of love in this Valentine-saturated milieu. The fan apparently translated his proposal message, which was “Rachel, you are awesome. Will you marry me?”, into a binary code, and used it as the basis for his proposal.
If you think that he simply scribbled the proposal on a piece of paper and handed it over to Rachel, you are in for a huge surprise! What he did was, he made a video of himself, while speaking out the entire code, which went on and on. To add that extra ‘Futurama’ edge to his unique proposal, he performed the act while he was dressed up as the character of Bender from the show.
He then asked his girlfriend to turn off her laptop for a few minutes, during which he posted the video on her Facebook page, while she sat across the room from him. Needless to say, it was a big yes from Rachel, who took half an hour to decode the litany of zeroes and ones.
After that great ‘Futurama’ love story, you can watch the latest Futurama episodes online to treat yourself to an entertainment-laden fest from the show!
